A MESSAGE OF HOPE AND HEALING

God loves those who are hurting, broken and hopeless. There is no situation so bad that God’s love and grace cannot fix it.

Jesus came to heal those with broken hearts and broken lives. He said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” (Luke 4:18)

God hurts when we hurt. He longs to restore you. He came to heal the brokenhearted, to deliver the captives and set at liberty those that are bruised. If you a survivor of sexual abuse, God can help you experience healing you never thought possible. He can not only save your life, but He can save your soul.

You have a choice. Either you can spend the rest of your life worrying about what needs to happen to your abuser, or you can focus on your own needs. Are you willing to let God take away the pain and hurt? Would you allow Him to do what only He can do in your life? Will you turn your attention inwardly for just a few moments and examine your own spiritual condition?

Has life become a burden, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t enjoy anything?  You look around and you are overwhelmed with the vanity of it all.  Relationships are falling apart.  Peace of mind is nowhere to be found.  You try to portray an image of happiness, success and control, but inside you feel like screaming and quitting.  But you keep on trying, because that is what you are supposed to do.

People are depending on you and you feel like a failure.  People look to you for answers, but you have no clue.  Life has eroded into a mere existence. You feel like you are letting the people you love down. You feel like God has let you down. People you trusted hurt you. The pain is deeper than you ever imagined. You are so tired of being afraid, confused and guilty.

Do you find yourself wondering why you’re here and what it is all about?  Is this all there is to it?  Does it get any better?  Is there any hope to actually having a life?

There is one guaranteed solution. Once you understand that Jesus Christ, the Creator, made each of us with a natural desire to know Him, things begin to make a little more sense.  He created every one of us with a void and an emptiness that only He could fill.

Without that personal relationship with God, a person’s search for fulfillment never ends.  Their life deteriorates into a series of one futile effort after another. Depression, extreme frustration – even thoughts of suicide are common at this point.

This is why so many people become addicted to the wrong things. They turn to alcohol, drugs, sex, crime, money, and every other option as a substitute for God. They are searching – longing – hungry for that feeling of satisfaction and completion.

But that feeling will not happen until God takes His rightful place as the Lord of your life and is in total control.  Then, all of those feelings of doubt are replaced with confidence.  Sadness is turned into joy.  Turmoil is replaced with peace.  Guilt over past sins is gone and God’s forgiveness takes over. What used to be dread is now turned into anticipation and excitement over the possibilities that only God can provide.

God’s Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

God is able to help you start all over. He can give you a new life and a new purpose. He is waiting for you to call out to Him! King David testified of this in Psalm 34:6, “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

The message of the Gospel can change your life.  Jesus died on a cross and shed His blood for your sins so that you could have life.  Not just eternal life in Heaven, but He wants you to have an abundant, meaningful life here on earth.

History bears witness to the multitudes of changed lives; lives that were transformed by simply placing child-like faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross.  He loves you.

Though some people are hesitant to admit it, there is one basic need we all have in common. Somewhere down deep inside of every person is a desire to be loved.  God created us that way.  Some may pretend it doesn’t matter and they can survive without anyone loving them or caring, but it does matter.  We all need love!

The good news is that since God made us with a need to be loved, He decided to meet that need personally. One of the most familiar portions of Scripture is found in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The unbelievable truth is that He loved us when we were so unworthy of His love. How could a holy God love sinners? One thing is certain if we are honest – we are all sinners.  The Bible is clear on that. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Because sin is such a horrible problem, God demands a high price for the forgiveness of our sins. Our good works aren’t enough. Church membership, baptism, giving money and good deeds will not pay the debt we owe because of our sin. God requires death as a payment. Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

This is how He demonstrated His great love for us. He sent His own Son to die. Romans 5:8 tells us of that great love. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

God’s love for us was so powerful that He allowed a mean and hate-filled crowd to hang His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, on a cross. How could anyone ever doubt God’s love after that?

No matter who you are, or what you have done, God’s love for you is unchanging. He wants to forgive you of every sin you’ve ever committed and He wants a personal relationship with you. The Bible is clear; He loves and welcomes everyone!

2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

God is standing with open arms to welcome and forgive every one that asks Him. Revelation 21:6 says, “And he said unto me... I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”

In order to be forgiven, you have to realize that God is waiting for you with open arms, and the decision is up to you!  If you die in your sins and go to hell, you cannot blame anybody but yourself!  God loved you enough to send a Savior to die on the cross for you.  He also loved you enough to give you the opportunity to hear the truth.

If you want His forgiveness and you want to accept Him as your Savior, then you must get serious with God.  Don’t let anything or anyone discourage you from making things right with God! Today is the day of salvation. Please do not put it off! Let God heal and change your life today!

Today could be the greatest day of your life.  Every sin you’ve ever committed could be washed away forever if you’ll just ask Him.

If you don’t think your sin is very important, then one day you will die in your sins and you will stand before a holy and righteous God. Then it will be too late. Those who have heard the Gospel will not have a single excuse. After a person dies, it is too late to accept the gift of God’s salvation. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)

Dear friend, Jesus loves you and died for you. Please don’t reject His precious gift of salvation. Jesus promised us that He will not turn anyone away that comes to Him for healing and salvation. “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”  (John 6:37)

The greatest love in the world is the love between the Creator (Jesus Christ) and those who accept Him as their personal Savior. Will you receive Him today? He wants to show His love to you! He died for you.  He rose from the dead and is extending an invitation to you now to be saved.

Why don’t you kneel right now where you are and ask Him to become your Lord and Savior?  I promise that you will never be the same. Pray right now and tell God you know you are a sinner and that you want His forgiveness for all your sins. Ask Him to come into your heart and save you and help you to live for Him.  Repent (turn from your sins) and put all your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

He is the only way you will ever be forgiven of all your sins.  He is the only way you will ever get to Heaven.  He is not the best way; Jesus is the only way!

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
