blbuography of edited collections of Scholarly Articles in Women's History AND Theme Issues on Women's History in Scholarly Journals since 1970 Prepared for the International Federation for Research on Women's History by Karen Offen, and published with permission. Entry cut-off date: 1/20/94. Edited collections and theme issues of scholarly journals are important, if neglected, indicators of the state of the art in a field. This is certainly true in women's history, where articles often antidpate major interpretative book-length studies. Yet to my knowledge, no comprehensive worldwide listing of such publications has ever been assembled. What follows is the result of a continuing inquiry launched in connection with the founding of the International Federation for Research in Women's History (in 1987). This list is organized by subjed matter bearing on women according to continent, subcontinent, or cultural zone, rather than by nation of origin or place of publication; within each grouping, organization will be alphabetical , under the last name of the first editor or collectivity (when an editor is not specified), and chronological in cases where individuals or groups have edited more than one volume. Collections whose subjed matter spans the history of women and/or gender on more than one continent (e.g., North America and Europe, or Europe and Africa) will be listed under the final section, "World/Comparative." The editor has made every attempt to be inclusive, but recognizes that there will inevitably be collections that have eluded the net. She regrets any inadvertent omissions and welcomes additions and/or corrections for future listing. Neither documentary collections nor collections focused on a single individual (e.g., Anna Maria van Schurmann, Germaine de StaÃl, Sylvia Pankhurst, Indira Gandhi) are included in this bibliography.  1994 Journal of Women-s History, Vol 6 No. Î (Spring) 1994 Bibliography 135 NORTH AMERICA Acosta-BelÃn, Edna, ed.
